Details to be provided to buyer) Period/Date: Collected in the 1960's. Balsa mask itself dates at least to the 1940's. Materials: Feathers, bush string, woven bark/rattan Description: It's remarkable this expressive Yam mask retains its radial Cassowary feather decoration and other adornments. It would have been collected immediately after a harvest ceremony. The mask itself has been used in numerous ceremonies and has layers of encrusted pigments. It is in an excellent state of preservation and looks stunning on any wall.
