Ex. Wayne Heathcote, Brussels, Ex. Antonio Casanovas "Arte Y Ritual", Spain) Period/Date: Early 20th Century Materials: Kava Tree Bark, Shell, Bush String, and Lime Description: This vibrant bark belt with finely and deeply carved decoration features three ancestor faces. One of the faces appears on the interior section of the belt. Its shows extensive age and use and would have been worn during special ceremonies along with other personal adornment like hair combs and Jewelry. There is a separation to an inside coil which received a stitched fiber mend as seen in the last photo. It comes with a custom wood and metal display stand (not shown).
