More than 200 years ago the tribe of the Baule migrated from southern Ghana to their present home in Ivory Coast. Artificially influenced by neighbour tribes like Guro, Senufo and Yaure they developed a large corpus of masks and figures both well know for virtuosity and graceful carving.
