The Collection provides early Chinese, Southeast Asian, Japanese and Tribal antiques and objects. Each object has been thoroughtly examinated on authenticity and style and attended with a full detailed authentication attest or/and laboratory analyse report.Due to our devotion to the arts, we started traveling to Asia and Africa several years ago. Over time, the gallery hase become a regular stop for collectors, curators, scholars and dealers from all over the world. The collection strives to obtain works of only the finest quality, originality and above all the highest level of artistic taste. Every year in June and November we organize our privat exhibition in Brussels near the Sablon.

Tribal Collective

Tribal Collective is maintained by Angel Bottaro and Joel Gauvin (with a little help from our Chihuahua , Sid Vicious). We are a couple who are lucky enough to share a common passion for Tribal Arts. We work from our home office in Melbourne ( Brunswick ), where most of our collection is available for viewing by appointment.
We specialise in the art and artifacts of the Australian Aborigines and of the various cultures of the Pacific region, but our inventory always includes interesting objects from further afield.
We are constantly hunting for new and exciting treasures to add to our inventory.

natsara ou nasara = La maison des Hommes ( bismila, dialecte océanien ), c'est le lieu consacré, la place où l'on se réunit pour parler et palabrer, danser, chanter, faire de la musique, boire et fumer mais aussi et surtout pour s'initier. Les dieux et les esprits des ancêtres sont là !

Il est donc naturel de trouver fétiches et masques, insignes tribaux et autres objets d'usage.

African Masks

I specialized in masks and started to learn about the spiritual meaning of them.
These spirits guide people through the varies stages of live and supervise transitions in it.
A dancer in a costume with his mask on is no longer a human being but transformes into a being of a higher order and becomes that spirit.

As so many collectors I could not stop but now I am running out of wall space.
I restrict myself to a few tribes(dogon and luba).
I had a great time collecting and hope you like them too.

Tribal Hunter

My enduring passion for tribal art was shaped by an initial 4 year journey through the African continent, beginning with a ferry to Tangier and finally reaching Cape Town with a much altered view of the world. A view from the inside – new colours, smells and an insight into lives and cultures – rarely glimpsed outside books, museums and documentary. As a result of that journey I have developed an interest in antique Tribal artefacts, with an interest in African, Aboriginal and Oceanic ethnographic items.
