North by Northwest Arts

North by Northwest Arts is the on-line presence of Jeffrey Myers Primitive Art.

Mr. Myers has specialized in the American Eskimo for the last 30 years, of which 25 have been spent living and field collecting among the Bering Sea Eskimo.
This experience has provided substantial knowledge of the prehistoric cultures, its peoples and the material culture. Although a frequent visitor to the mainland areas, most of his time has been spent living in the village of Savoonga, St. Lawrence Island. St. Lawrence Island is the area where the earliest cultural periods with an artistic tradition originates, and he has often stayed 3 months, the duration of the digging season.
