The kota art is characterized by its figures from wood reliquary plated with sheets of copper and brass. The traditional religion of kota is centered around ancestors who are believed to wield power in the after life.These sculptures were attached to the baskets containing the bones and were supposed playing the role of guards of the relics. The kota term is used by simplification and include several ethnic groups having common affinities and a strong linguistic and cultural affinities.Kota are currently installed in the east of Gabon overlapping however part of the territory of the republic of Congo called commonly Congo Brazza.The country Kota covers a little more than 70000 km, approximately the quarter of the surface of Gabon
